Broken Bone Is A Bitch :(

Wuh oh, Ma leg is broken...
Really broken...

Check it --->

So i know this isn't the most ideal thing to happen to any human being, but surprisingly enough it WAS on my bucketlist...

Now I’m not saying that if i was 40 and hadn't broken a bone yet, i was going to go out and break it 'just cause.' This particular item on my bucket list i didn't care if i didn't achieve...

BUT HEY! i did it anyway.

I broke my leg on the 3rd of August, and a month and a week later, im feeling great.
I can walk around on a walking stick now and it doesn't hurt that much anymore.
But, this is how it happened...

I was playing basketball with the trusty and talented team NADS. (This is the team me and my mates made up... "GO NADS!")
I jumped up for a rebound near the end of the game and when i landed; I felt a large shift in weight in my leg and heard a loud, really fuckin loud, crack. I fell to the ground and felt that about 3 inches above my ankle there was a gap where my shin bone should be. Not the best feeling in the world.
It took 40 minutes for the ambulance to come and in that time i was cracking jokes to my mates. OH, and bitching about the pain every now and then. By the time the ambo's got there i was apparently as white as a ghost. I was still cracking jokes and basically swore at them to drug me up so i can sleep :)

When i woke up, i was in the ambulance and i overheard the ambo's talking about my leg. Apparently i had broke both the bones in my left shin clean in half, and one of the bones had stabbed through the skin above the ankle.

Beautiful....

How the surgeons fixed my broken leg was to slice a MASSIVE cut in my knee, cut the top of my shin bone open, get a massive titanium rod and gently HAMMER IT INTO THE BONE all the way to the ankle. Then, screw it into the bone with 4 large screws.

I am now part Robotic. =)

I just wanna say thanks to everyone that has helped mwa through the whole bloody fun thing... the people that kept me entertained when it happened were great, the nurses were great (especially that perky Black haired one...god dam =) ) The doctors that did the surgery were bastards, but they did a damn good job on the leg.

Although i cant walk/run for a LONG time, i still have to say this bone break has made me happier then i have ever been.
Bloody weird or what?
I can’t explain it, I guess it gives me some character. Through bad times people grow values and personality.

Cheers, Dan =)
